The Packers continue to get ready for the Cowboys Sunday at Lambeau Field. Green Bay (3-6) is hoping to break a five-game losing srreak against former coach Mike McCarthy and the Dallas Cowboys (6-2). The Cowboys are coming off their bye week. The pregame starts at 1:00 with the kickoff at 3:25 on FM 1023, The Bug.
In Thursday Night Football Carolina won at home over conference rival, the Atlanta Faloncs, 25-15. The Panthers led 3-0 at the end of the first quarter and 13-3 at the half. Each team scored 6 points in the third and fourth quarters. P.J. Walker completed 10-16 for just 108 yards for Carolina, but the Panthers rushed for 232 yards against Atlanta. D’Onta Foreman ground out 130 yards on 31 carries and scored a touchdown. Atlanta’s Marcus Mariota completed 19-30 for 186 yards and two touchdowns and one interception. The Falcons improve to 3-7 while the Falcons drop to 4-6.
The Bucks are back in action tonight at San Antonio. Milwaukee is coming off a 136-132 win in double overtime at Oklahoma City Wednesday night over the Thunder. The Bucks were missing their top two scorers. Giannis Antetokuonmpo sat out with a sore left knee and Jrue Holiday was out with a sprained ankle, but Jevon Carter had career highs of 36 points and 12 assists to lead the way for Milwaukee.
The Badgers men’s basketball team is back in action tonight as Wiscosnin hosts Stanford. The Badgers (1-0) opened their season Monday night with an 85-59 win at home over South Dakota.
The Ripon College men’s basketball team opens its season tonight at home against St. Norbert College. Tipoff is at 7:00.
UW-Oshkosh plays at Calvin University tonight. The Titans opened their season with a 76-63 win at home over Lawrence University on Tuesday night.
In football the Wiscsonin Badgers are on the road Saturday against the Iowa Hawkeyes. Both teams are 5-4. The kickoff is at 2:30 and the game can be heard on AM 1600/93.1 FM, WRPN.
In area college football Saturday, Ripon College 8-1 overall and 7-1 in conference play, hosts winless Lawrence University. The Red Hawks suffered their only loss of the season last Saturday 39-31 at Monmouth. Kickoff is at noon.
UW-Oshkosh is at UW-Eau Claire. The Titans are 5-4 on the season and 3-3 in conference play.
Level 4 of the high school football playoffs is tonight. In some area semi finals games, Kimberly is at Bay Port in Division 1. In Division 2, West De Pere is at Kaukauna. In Division 4 Freedom is at Columbus and in Division 6, Saint Mary’s Springs is at Straford. The winners advance on to the state chamapionshp games.
