9/4/22 Driver From Crash Was Lost In The Woods

A 36-year-old man who fled the scene of a single vehicle crash in Fond du Lac County’s Town of Marshfield Saturday afternoon was found safe early Sunday morning. Sheriff’s officials say Mitchell Titel was heading west on County Highway Q and failed to negotiate a curve at the intersection of Calmar Road. The vehicle left the roadway and struck several trees. Evidence at the scene suggests alcohol may have been a factor. Titel fled on foot from the scene and deputies and a K9 were unable to locate him. Two hours after the crash the County’s Communications Center got a call from a friend of his who had received a call from Titel who said he was walking in the woods he thought not far from the crash but he wasn’t sure. The Sheriff’s Office reported early Sunday morning that Titel was safe. He had showed up at a friend’s house.
