7/26/22 Semi Crashes Into Home In Winnebago County

26 July 2022 News

Update:

Winnebago County Sheriff’s officials say an 8-month-old boy died when a semi went off Interstate 41 north of Oshkosh Monday night and crashed into a home. The child was in the residence and died at the scene. The 63-year-old Little Chute man driving the semi-tractor trailer suffered minor injuries in the crash. Investigators say the semi was heading south on the interstate when it veered off the road, went through a fenceline, crossed the frontage road, and crashed into a residence on Green Valley Road. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Green Valley Road was closed between State Highway 76 and County Highway GG for approximately 10 ½ hours.

The Winnebago County Sheriff’s 911 Communications Center started receiving calls just after 6 o’clock last night that a semi-tractor trailer had gone off of Interstate 41 and crashed into an occupied residence on Green Valley Road. Sheriff’s officials say the truck left the interstate, crossed the frontage road, and crashed into the residence. It was a significant crash that closed Green Valley Road between State Highway 76 and County Highway GG. No information about injuries or fatalities from the accident north of Oshkosh was released, but the Sheriff’s Office did ask that people keep the friends and families of those involved in their thoughts and prayers.
