7/24/22 Severe Storms Move Through The Area
24 July 2022 News
Two waves of Severe Thunderstorms swept through the area Saturday night with winds gusting up to 60 miles an hour. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department received at least 10 reports of trees down across roads and some on power lines. Officials at the Fond du Lac County Fair closed it from 5:30 to 7 pm hoping the storms would blow over and were able to put on concerts on the Grandstand after they reopened. But storms returned a second time shortly after 9 pm shutting down the Fair for the evening. There was also damage to the EAA AirVenture grounds in Oshkosh including a plane on display being flipped up against a tree. The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office posted video on their Facebook page of the early storm right after one of their marine units had towed a disabled boat back to shore. The storms also caused power outages with thousands still without power on Sunday morning. No injuries were reported. (Picture from Todd Sharp taken from North of Princeton)
