6/16/22 Storms Roll Through Wisconsin

16 June 2022 News

Strong storms moved through Wisconsin Wednesday evening prompting Severe Thunderstorm, Tornado and Flash Flood Warnings. Trees were reported down in Fond du Lac County blocking roads and a campground exit. Waupaca County reported a number of trees down and Columbia County at the height of the storm had 68 reports of trees and branches being down. Heavy rain caused some vehicles to hydroplane. One vehicle on I-41 in Fond du Lac ended up in a ditch overturning on its roof. Early this morning Alliant Energy reported 189 power outages in the state affecting nearly 12,000 customers. We will learn more today about damage and where any tornadoes touched down, but at least two tornadoes were confirmed in the state. There was also a report of 100 mile an hour wind speeds near the Village of Coloma in Waushara County.  (Columbia County Sheriff’s photo)
