5 May 2022 News

Federal grand juries have indicted two Oshkosh men on felon in possession of firearm charges. Thirty-two-year-old Mitchell Burton possessed nine firearms and 39-year-old Sergio Emerson (pictured) possessed one firearm. It is also alleged that Emerson failed to register as a sex offender with the State of Wisconsin. The Oshkosh Police Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives investigated both cases. The charges carry penalties of up to ten years in prison and $250,000 in fines. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin announced the indictments which came down Tuesday.
