5/2/22 New COVID 19 Cases Picking Up

As the latest spike in COVID-19 continues the level of activity in the state is high in two counties; Barron and Rusk. It’s at medium levels in five other counties including Green Lake and at low levels in the remaining 65 counties in Wisconsin. Going into the weekend state health officials reported 1,544 new cases of COVID-19 the second highest daily amount in two months. The Department of Health Services says more people are being tested for the coronavirus. Two deaths were reported Friday and 36 people were hospitalized. The Wisconsin Hospital Association reported 234 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state with 37 of them in intensive care units.
Winnebago County reported 43 COVID-19 cases Friday. Thirty cases were recorded in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had 14 new cases. Green Lake County had 5 new cases, Waupaca County had 2 new cases and Waushara County reported 7 new cases of the coronavirus.
