FDL Drug And Gun Bust

Three Fond du Lac men were arrested during a traffic stop in Fond du Lac Sunday afternoon that yielded drugs and guns in the vehicle they were pulled over in. A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy could smell the odor of marijuana and the driver admitted he and the others in the vehicle were smoking it in the vehicle earlier in the day.  During a subsequent search of the vehicle deputies found five handguns, including one that was loaded, additional ammunition, 50 grams of marijuana and THC-related products, drug paraphernalia, and several hundred dollars cash. The three men were taken to the County Jail on drug and firearm related charges. Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says there is no such thing as a routine traffic stop. (Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s photo)

Each of those efforts will receive $200,000. The Board meets at 6 pm in the legislative chambers of the City-County Government Center in Fond du Lac.

Ready To Pivot

Former Ripon Community COVID-19 Task Force member Jeff Puhlmann-Becker says he noticed quite a difference at the polls while he was working the Spring Election a week ago. He says during the Presidential Election in November of 2020 it seemed like everyone who went to the polls was wearing a mask while during the recent election that number was dramatically reduced. He says all along he’s maintained that we need to trust in the science and with the number of people who have been vaccinated and boosted combined with those who went through and survived COVID the positivity rate has been greatly reduced. But he says if we see another upturn with a new variant we have to be ready to pivot back to wearing masks and social distancing.
