Police in Fond du Lac are looking for the driver who left a vehicle on railroad tracks on Forest Avenue where it was struck by a Canadian National freight train early Saturday morning. No one was in the Chevy sedan when it was struck by the northbound train. Police say it appears the vehicle may have been performing some type of turning maneuver and may have become stuck or disabled on the south side of the roadway while on the railroad tracks. Police and Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue responded to the scene at 262 Forest Avenue at 1:43 am Saturday morning.
