2/26/22 FDL Man Pleads Guilty In Drug Overdose Death

26 February 2022 News

A 36-year-old Fond du Lac man has pleaded “no contest” to a first degree reckless homicide charge stemming from his supplying a North Fond du Lac woman with the fentanyl that led to her death in North Fond du Lac on May 7th of 2020. Christopher Hoerth entered the plea during a hearing in Fond du Lac County court Friday. A felony bail jumping charge was read into the record and dismissed. Hoerth will be sentenced on May 5th. During an interview with police in November of 2020 Hoerth said he went down to Milwaukee to purchase what he thought was heroin. He said he put a quarter gram of it behind the victim’s mirror. District Attorney Eric Toney says they have seen record setting drug overdose deaths in Fond du Lac County and across Wisconsin in 2020 and 2021, with fentanyl being a leading cause of those deaths. Hoerth could get up to 25 years in prison, 15 years of extended supervision, and $10,000 in fines when he is sentenced.
