For the first time since last August Wisconsin’s 7-day rolling average for new COVID-19 cases fell below 1,000 daily cases. The state’s Department of Health Services Wednesday reported that average is now at 982 cases a day the lowest average since last August 4th. The DHS says 986 tests came back positive yesterday for the virus. The department also says none of the state’s counties are experiencing “critically high” levels of COVID activity, but 43 are still in the “very high” category while the remaining 29 are experiencing “high” levels. Forty deaths were reported with 17 in the last 30 days and 85 people were hospitalized with the coronavirus.
Winnebago County reported 34 new COVID-19 cases and 1 death Wednesday. Eighteen (18) new cases were recorded in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had 23 new cases. Green Lake County had 4 new cases, Waupaca County also had 4 new cases and 1 death, and Waushara County had 2 new cases of the coronavirus.
