Horicon Man Charged With Vehicular Homicide
A 47-year-old Horicon man is facing vehicular homicide charges in Dodge County. Prosecutors say Daniel Bryfczynski had multiple drugs in his system when he fell asleep at the wheel of his pickup truck and crossed over the centerline on State Highway 33 and hit another car. The accident last June 16th in the town of Oak Grove killed a 50-year-old Lake Mills woman, injured a 12-year-old passenger in her car, and hurt a passenger in Bryfczynski’s truck. He allegedly admitted to investigators he had smoked marijuana while he was out fishing that day. But a blood test revealed he also had cocaine, ketamine, and opiates in his system. An initial hearing is scheduled for March 7th. In addition to the vehicular homicide charge Bryfczynski is facing causing injury, marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession charges.

It’s that time of year for the sweepstakes and a scammer is sending out letters saying the person won $350,000 and is enclosing a check for $4,950 to cover legal and administrative fees. You’re supposed to cash the check at your bank and send the money to them before the rest of your prize is released. But the check is a fake and if you do so your financial institution will expect you to make good on the money. Police say the bottom paragraph of the letter tells you not to discuss your winnings with anyone.
