2/17/22 FDL County Chase Suspect At Large

A 36-year-old Madison man will be facing charges for a vehicle chase that started on Highway 151 in Fond du Lac County and was terminated by authorities in Dane County. A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputy pulled a vehicle over on Highway 151 southbound near State Highway 49 in the Town of Waupun Wednesday night for a mechanical violation. License plates didn’t match the vehicle and the driver gave a false name taking off when he was asked to get out of the vehicle. Multiple agencies were involved in the pursuit and the driver was able to evade tire deflation devices. The pursuit was cut off after 37 miles but the Dane County Sheriff’s Office was able to identify the driver. He’s facing a number of charges, but is not in custody. No one was injured during the chase and no property was damaged. The initial traffic stop was just before 7:30 Wednesday evening.
