Aaron Rodgers appeared on the Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday. When asked about his future plans, the 17-year veteran said there was one thing he would not do and that’s retire and come back a year later. He said he’s in a really good place with his relationship with the Packers and General Manager Brian Gudekunst and when he makes a decision about his future, it won’t be a long, drawn out process.

Former Wisconsin Timber Rattlers David Ortiz was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in his first try Tuesday, while steroid-tainted stars Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens were denied entry in their final year under consideration by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. Ortiz, a 10-time All-Star over 20 seasons mostly with the Boston Red Sox, was named on 77.9% of ballots, clearing the 75% threshold needed for enshrinement. He’s the 58th player inducted in his first time up for consideration. He’s the fourth Hall of Famer born in the Dominican Republic, joining Juan Marichal, Martinez and Vladimir Guerrero.
The left-handed hitter was signed by Seattle as a teenager and played with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in 1996 before being traded to Minnesota as a minor leaguer. He made his major league debut with the Twins in 1997 but hardly looked like a future Hall of Famer there. He was released in 2002, signed a free agent deal with Boston and slugged 31 homers the next season.

The Green Bay Packers signed QB Kurt Benkdrt, WR Chris Blair, CB Kabion Ento (kay-be-on N-toe), QB Danny Etling, S Innis Gaines, LB La’Darius Hamilton, C Michal Menet (Michael MEN-et), K JJ Molson, T/G Cole Van Lanen and LB Ray Wilborn. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Tuesday.
All of the players spent time on the Packers’ practice squad this season.

In the NBA tonight the Bucks play the Cavs in Cleveland. Milwaukee (30-19) is tied with the Nets for third place in the Eastern Conference and a half-game in front of the Cavaliers (29-19).

In men’s college basketball tonight UW-Oshkosh is at Eau Claire. The Titans are 15-2 overall and 5-1 in the conference.
