ThedaCare Files Temporary Injunction Against Ascension Wisconsin
An Outagamie County judge will solve a dispute over workers between two Fox Valley health care providers. Thursday ThedaCare filed for a temporary injunction against Ascension Wisconsin. ThedaCare’s action asks the court to provide time for ThedaCare to replace the majority of its 11-member interventional radiology and cardiovascular team of nurses and technicians who accepted employment offers at Ascension Wisconsin. Seven of the 11 members have accepted positions at Ascension Wisconsin to work at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton and would start today. The court action seeks to partner with Ascension Wisconsin for 90 days to give ThedaCare enough time to fill those lost positions. ThedaCare officials say the hiring away of those employees en masse would impede the ability to provide care to trauma victims at ThedaCare’s Level II Trauma Center and would potentially force the diversion of trauma victims from a 17-plus county area to Madison, Milwaukee or Green Bay. An Ascension Wisconsin spokesperson says they did not recruit the ThedaCare workers those workers applied for open job postings. (ThedaCare photo)

Whitrock says they’ve made improvements at the Field over the past few years including artificial turf replacement and adding a new fence, but they plan on additional improvements that will make it more aesthetically pleasing and safer. That would include things like asphalt work and additional lighting.

He says along with the match from the store they collected $9,486 from Thursday to Sunday of last week more than 10 percent of the $80,000 goal they have. Puhlmann-Becker says they are at 73 percent of the goal. The campaign money will be distributed to 17 agencies that provide services to the community.
Vaccine Mandate Led To Lay Off For Some ADVOCAP Workers
The Federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate for programs funded by federal grants has had an impact on some nonprofit programs. ADVOCAP’s Head Start program is funded by a federal grant. Tanya Marcoe is the executive director for ADVOCAP. She says as part of that mandate they were required to lay off employees who weren’t vaccinated against the virus. She says they had no choice in the matter and had to let some people go. ADVOCAP works with school districts in Berlin, Ripon, North Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac and elsewhere providing the 4K program. But Marcoe says it is more than that also providing emergency service and family development components. ADVOCAP serves Fond du Lac, Green Lake, and Winnebago counties.

Waupaca County Sheriff Timothy Wilz this week presented Civil Medals of Gallantry to three people this week for saving the life of a young woman.
