With the new reporting method for people who test positive for COVID-19 a backlog of cases continues to flood in along with new results putting the 7-day rolling average for new cases at 17,916 on Monday. But those numbers may be slowing down with the average dropping by more than 1,800 cases since last Friday. The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday also reported 54 more deaths putting the death toll since the pandemic began at 10,540 lives lost. The state also reported 757 more hospitalizations over the weekend. The Wisconsin Hospital Association says 2,247 people are hospitalized around the state with COVID and 452 of those patients are in intensive care units.

Winnebago County Monday reported 1,255 new COVID-19 cases and 1 death. Fond du Lac County surpassed 25,000 total cases with 768 new cases since Friday giving it a total of 25,556 cases. Dodge County moved past 21,000 cases (21,125) reporting 808 new cases and 6 deaths and Green Lake County had 76 new cases. Waupaca County recorded 185 new cases and is nearing 10,000 total cases (9,899) and Waushara County had 120 new cases of the coronavirus.
