Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services says all 72 counties in the state now have “critically high” levels of COVID-19 activity. Last week 47 counties had “critically high” levels and the remaining 25 were in the “very high” category, but the state’s 7-day rolling average for new cases Wednesday was at 9,675 and 10,277 tests came back positive since Tuesday. Hospitalizations also hit a new record. The Wisconsin Hospital Association says 2,278 people are hospitalized with the coronavirus and 488 patients are in intensive care units which is also a new high. The state also reported 25 more deaths.
Winnebago County reported 581 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday. Two-hundred and eighty-nine (289) new cases were recorded in Fond du Lac County which has neared 24,000 total cases (23,979) and Dodge County had 305 new cases. Green Lake County reported 40 new cases, Waupaca County had 121 new cases and Waushara County had 38 new cases of the coronavirus.
