Officials with Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services Tuesday reported another daily record with 12,305 tests coming back positive for the COVID-19 virus. That raised the 7-day rolling average to 9,696 cases per day or about 3,200 cases more than the peak of the surge in November of 2020. Forty-eight more deaths were also reported pushing the 7-day rolling average for lives lost due to the coronavirus to 29. The Wisconsin Hospital Association recorded 2,244 COVID-19 patients yesterday with 486 of those patients in intensive care units. That is the most COVID patients in ICU’s in a given day. The record number of COVID patients hospitalized at one time was 2,277 in November of 2020.
Winnebago County reported 1,113 new COVID-19 patients Tuesday and 2 deaths. One-hundred and seventy-eight (178) new cases and 1 death were recorded in Fond du Lac County and 217 new cases in Dodge County. Green Lake County had 44 new cases, Waupaca County had 138 new cases, and Waushara County reported 95 new cases of the coronavirus.
