The number of Wisconsin counties with “critically high” levels of COVID-19 activity more than doubled over the past week from 19 to 40. The other 32 counties have “very high” levels of activity. Area counties with “critically high” levels of COVID-19 activity include; Dodge, Green Lake, Fond du Lac, Waushara, and Winnebago counties. Waupaca County is in the “very high” category for COVID activity. The 7-day rolling average for COVID-19 cases Thursday was at 3,804. Meanwhile Wisconsin is leading the nation with 1,000 COVID cases per 100,000 people. The Wisconsin Hospital Association yesterday reported 1,659 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state with 410 of them in intensive care units.
