The state’s Department of Health Services reports 8,436 new COVID-19 cases, 37 deaths, and 356 hospitalizations since Friday. But Monday’s report wasn’t all bad as the number of new cases diagnosed since Sunday was 1,545 the fewest new cases in a single day since November 20th. Only 5 deaths were reported over the weekend with none on Sunday. The Wisconsin Hospital Association reports 70 more hospitalizations compared to Friday. The 1,714 COVID-19 patients in hospitals across the state are the most since December 3rd of last year. Of those patients 443 are in intensive care units.
Winnebago County Monday reported 262 new COVID-19 cases. One-hundred and fifty-four (154) new COVID cases were recorded in Fond du Lac County since Friday and Dodge County had 184 new cases and 1 death. Green Lake County had 27 new cases and 1 death and Waushara County had 18 new cases. The 46 new coronavirus cases reported in Waupaca County Monday moved the county past 8,000 total cases with 8,031.
