Aaron Rodgers threw for 385 yards and four touchdowns, but the Packers couldn’t complete a second half comeback against the Vikings, falling 34-31 on a game-winning 29-yard field goal by Greg Joseph.
Minnesota drove 64 yards in 2:06 on the final drive after a Darnell Savage interception was overturned by replay review. The Vikings improved to 5-5 with the win, trailing the Packers by two-and-a-half games in the NFC North.
Green Bay trailed 16-3 in the first half and 23-10 in the third quarter, each time finding comebacks on Rodgers’ arm. Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling combined to catch 11 passes for 238 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
After losing the coin toss, the Packers got the ball on their opening drive. Rodgers hit Adams for 37 yards on a shallow crossing route on the first play from scrimmage, and when the drive stalled, Mason Crosby nailed a 54-yard field goal for the first points of the game.
The Vikings answered with a field goal on their next drive. Late in the first quarter, Kirk Cousins connected with Justin Jefferson (8 receptions, 169 yards, 2 touchdowns) on a 56-yard bomb down to the one-yard line. Dalvin Cook scored a play later to give Minnesota a 9-3 lead.
Crosby missed a 32-yard field goal on the first drive of the second quarter, and Minnesota responded with a quick touchdown drive to extend to a 16-3 lead.
The teams traded three-and-outs before Rodgers embarked the offense on a nine-play, 74-yard drive, capping the march with a 25-yard strike to Josiah Deguara on a scramble drill. The catch marked Deguara’s first career touchdown.
Minnesota opened the second half with a 14-play scoring drive to make it 23-10, but the Packers responded. A masterful play-calling drive by Matt LaFleur ended with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams, cutting the lead to 23-17.
The Vikings quickly marched into Green Bay territory, but the Packers defense bowed up, ending the drive with a Preston Smith strip sack near midfield and forcing a Minnesota punt.
Beginning at their own six-yard line to start the fourth quarter, the Green & Gold took seven minutes off the clock on a 94-yard drive, featuring a 26-yard catch-and-run by Equanimeous St. Brown (54 total yards).
The key sequence of the drive was a wild one inside the Vikings red zone. Facing an expiring shot clock and a blitz look on third-and-six, Rodgers turned to call timeout – but the ball had already been snapped. The reigning MVP turned, snagged the snap with his fingertips, and lofted it to a wide open Davante Adams in the end zone for a 24-23 lead.
Cousins and the Vikings strung together another long drive, and with Cousins facing safety pressure on third down, he lofted a prayer to Jefferson. The standout sophomore answered, snagging the 18-yard touchdown over rookie corner Eric Stokes. Cook waltzed in for the two-point conversion to give the Vikings a 31-24 lead with 2:17 to play.
As Rodgers has shown this season, 2:17 is too much time to leave a reigning MVP and a top 10 offense – but the Packers only needed nine seconds. On the first play of the drive, he hit Valdes-Scantling on a deep ball over the middle, streaking behind the defense for a 75-yard touchdown and tying the game at 31.
Cousins and the Vikings offense took over with 2:08 to play, and after an offsides call on first down, Cousins lofted a deep ball to Jefferson on first-and-five. Darnell Savage, who dropped an interception earlier in the game and had another called back due to a roughing the passer penalty, appeared to snag the key pick, but replay review overturned the ball after it grazed the U.S. Bank Stadium turf.
Minnesota converted big pass plays to Cook and Adam Thielen before Cook broke off a 12-yard run inside the Green Bay 10-yard line. Cousins took a knee three times to run out the clock, and Joseph kicked the 29-yard game-winner with no time left.
For the game, Packers QB Aaron Rodgers was 23-of-33 for 385 yards with four TDs and a 148.4 passer rating. RB AJ Dillon had 11 carries for 53 yards, while Valdes-Scantling finished with four catches for 123 yards and a score and WR Davante Adams had seven grabs for 115 yards and two TDs.
The Packers fell to 8-3 with the loss while the Vikings improved to 5-5. Green Bay also lost LT Elgton Jenkins to a knee injury in the fourth quarter. More tests will be performed today.l
The loss dropped Green Bay to 8-3 overall and 2-1 in the division while the Vikings improve to 5-5. The Packers return to Lambeau Field next Sunday for a battle with the Los Angeles Rams (7-3).
Elsewhere in the NFC North, Baltimore won at Chicago, defeating the Bears 16-13 and Cleveland hung on at home to beat the Lions 13-10.
The Charges won at home Sunday night 41-37 over the Steelers and in Monday Night Football, Tampa Bay hosts the New York Giants.
Fond Du Lac’s Braelon Allen rushed for 228 yards and three touchdowns – including a tiebreaking 53-yarder with 3:50 remaining – to help No. 19 Wisconsin outlast Nebraska 35-28 for its seventh consecutive victory Saturday.
Nebraska drove to Wisconsin’s 11-yard line in the final minute but ended up losing the ball on downs at the 21. Faion Hicks broke up Adrian Martinez’s fourth-down pass to Zavier Betts with four seconds left.
The Badgers (8-3, 6-2 Big Ten, No. 15 College Football Playoffs) handed Nebraska (3-8, 1-7) its fifth straight loss and moved a step closer to playing for a conference title.
Wisconsin will clinch its fourth Big Ten championship game appearance in the last six years if it wins its regular-season finale at Minnesota. Wisconsin is tied with No. 18 Iowa for first place in the West but owns the tiebreaker advantage because it beat the Hawkeyes 27-7 on Oct. 30.
Allen, who had 22 carries Saturday, has rushed for over 100 yards in each of Wisconsin’s last seven games. The 17-year-old had totaled 12 carries during Wisconsin’s 1-3 start.
He had a career-long 71-yard touchdown in the first quarter and a 3-yard score late in the third quarter. After Nebraska tied the game with 6:27 left in the game on Marvin Scott’s 3-yard touchdown, Allen put Wisconsin back ahead with one more breakaway.
Nebraska got a first down from the Wisconsin 11 in the final minute. But after right tackle Bryce Benhart committed a holding penalty that pushed the Cornhuskers back 10 yards, Martinez threw four straight incompletions.
Nebraska coach Scott Frost received an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after the fourth-down incompletion, perhaps believing Hicks made contact with the receiver before the throw arrived.
Martinez went 23 of 35 for 351 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions, both by Collin Wilder. He became Nebraska’s all-time leader in career total offense with 10,792 yards. Tommy Armstrong Jr. had 10,690 yards in total offense with 10,690.
Wisconsin visits Minnesota on Saturday.
The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, won the team’s second home game over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants Friday night with a final score of 111-108. With 21.8 seconds left in the game Sam Cunliffe delivered a three point and-one-shot to put the Herd up 109-108. With nine seconds left, Georgios Kalaitzakis was sent to the free throw line and sealed the game with two made free throws.
Wenyen Gabriel led the Herd with 19 points and Rayjon Tucker added 18. For his first game with the Herd, Milwaukee Bucks assignment player Georgios Kalaitzakis came in third for scorers with 15. Sandro Mamukelashvili, a two-way player with the Milwaukee Bucks, played in his first game with Herd and tallied a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Fort Wayne Mad Ants were led by Duane Washington Jr. with 27 points. Terry Taylor, from the Fort Wayne Mads Ants, posted a double-double with 23 points and 19 rebounds. Bennie Boatwright also had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Milwaukee Bucks 117. Orlando Magic 108-Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks with 32 points, 20 rebounds and had 5 assists. Bobby Portis chipped in with 24 as the Bucks improve to 9-8. The Magic were led by R.J. Hampton who had 19 points. Orlando drops to 4-13.
