Sports for November 19th
The Green Bay Packers are having trouble getting healthy this week in preparation for their game at rival Minnesota. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has not practiced because of a toe injury. The three-time NFL MVP has said he’s certain he’ll play against the Vikings. Left tackle David Bakhtiari has also been held out of practice. He’s trying to make his way back from a torn ACL suffered late last season. Running back Aaron Jones is unlikely to play at Minnesota after hurting his knee last week. There are also injuries on the defensive side. One of those is linebcker Rashon Gary, who suffered an elbow injury against Seattle on Sunday. He saw limited participation in practice both Wednesday and Thursday but most likely will play Sunday. Linebacker Preston Smith said his teammate will try and do everything he can to get back out on the field against the Vikings.
The Packers are 8-2 while the Vikings are second in the NFC North at 4-5. You can hear all of the action beginning with the pregame at 10:00 and the kickoff at noon on FM 102.3, The Bug.
In Thursday Night Football the New England Patriots won on the road over the Falcons 25-0. The Patriots led 13-0 at the half and closed it out with 12 points in the fourth quarter to improve to 7-4 while Atlanta drops to 4-6. New England’s Matt Jones was 22-26 for 207 yards with a touchdown and an interception while Atlanta’s Matt Ryan was 19-28 for just 153 yards and two picks.
In the NBA tonight the Bucks host the Oklahoma City Thunder. Milwaukee is 7-8 while the Thunder is 6-8.

Darryl Morsell scored 22 points, Justin Lewis added a career-best 21 points and nine rebounds and Marquette beat Mississippi 78-72 Thursday night in the opening round of the Charleston Classic. Marquette plays in the winner’s brackett, and OIe Miss the loser’s bracket, on Friday. Marquette improves to 4-0.
The State High School Football Championship games got underway Thursday at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.
In Division 7 Reedsville won its first-ever state championship with a 17-0 victory over Coleman. In Division 6 Colby beat Saint Mary’s Springs 22-7 while in Division 5 Aquinas edged Mayville 28-26. In Division 4 Catholic Memorial beat Ellsworth 21-12.
