Wisconsin is going in the wrong direction when it comes to COVID-19 activity with the number of counties experiencing “critically high” levels of the virus up to 8 or double what it was at the last two weeks. Another 62 counties have “very high” levels of activity and the remaining two counties “high” levels of activity. Marquette County is the only county in the area with “critically high” levels of COVID activity, the rest are in the “very high” category. The state’s Department of Health Services says 3,370 tests came back positive Wednesday for the virus. The state also reported 36 more deaths and 163 hospitalizations.
Winnebago County Wednesday reported 72 new cases of COVID-19 and 1 death. Fifty-six new cases were recorded in Fond du Lac County and 30 new cases and 2 deaths in Dodge County. Green Lake County had 11 new cases and 1 death, Waupaca County 34 new cases and 2 deaths, and Waushara County had 7 new cases of the coronavirus.
