Lomira Man Injured In FDL County Accident

3 November 2021 News

Both drivers shared some fault in a Fond du Lac County accident that led to serious injuries for a 33-year-old Lomira man early Wednesday morning. According to the Sheriff’s Office it happened on County Highway D in the area of Hunter Lane in the Town of Fond du Lac. A 70-year-old Fond du Lac area man was backing a semi-tractor with attached milk tanker into a private driveway. While performing the backing maneuver the trailer blocked the southbound lanes. The Lomira man was heading south in his vehicle and struck the tanker-trailer becoming stuck near the rear wheels of the trailer. After he was extricated he was flown to a trauma center for medical treatment of serious injuries. The truck driver wasn’t injured, but officials say is responsible for the unsafe backing of the trailer that was a prime contributing factor in the crash. The Lomira man was arrested for suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant. The accident was reported just before 12:30 Wednesday morning.
