Appleton Man Sentenced On FDL County Drug Charges
2 November 2021 News
A Fond du Lac County judge Monday sentenced a 45-year-old Appleton man to 11 years in prison and 11 years of extended supervision on 12 charges related to a traffic pursuit and the subsequent seizure of nearly a pound of methamphetamine near his vehicle. It happened in April of 2019 when Tony Weaver eluded a traffic stop on Interstate 41, but was eventually caught with the meth that had a street value of $43,000. Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney says Weaver was the target of a year-long multijurisdictional investigation into methamphetamine, heroin, and cocaine trafficking in the Fox Valley. A jury found Weaver guilty of the charges during a 3-day jury trial in July. Toney says Weaver was a significant drug dealer and career criminal.
