The state’s Department of Health Services Thursday reported 2,169 new COVID-19 cases, 19 deaths and 83 hospitalizations. Seven day averages for each of those continue to decline. New cases are averaging 1,869 a day and hospitalizations 120. Deaths are averaging 11 per day while the death toll since the pandemic began has reached 8,312 lives lost. As of Thursday 57.5 percent of Wisconsin’s population have gotten at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 54.8 percent have been fully vaccinated.
Winnebago County reported 90 new COVID-19 cases and 1 death Thursday and will surpass 23,000 total cases this weekend. Fifty-five new cases were recorded in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had 44 new cases. Green Lake County had 9 new cases, Waupaca County had 30 new cases and 2 deaths, and Waushara County reported 16 new cases of the coronavirus.
