21 October 2021 News
In its weekly report on the levels of COVID-19 activity in Wisconsin counties the state’s Department of Health Services shared that the number of counties with “critically high” levels of COVID activity has dropped from 16 to 8. But the virus’s spread remains “very high” in 63 counties with Dane County the sole county with a “high” level of activity. The state says cases are on the decline in Green Lake, Waushara and Winnebago counties so they have dropped out of the “critically high” level of activity category into the “very high” category. On Wednesday the state reported 2,066 new COVID cases, 26 more deaths, and 142 hospitalizations.
Winnebago County Wednesday reported 43 new COVID-19 cases and 2 deaths. Thirty-new cases were recorded in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had 35 new cases and 1 death. Green Lake County had 8 new cases, Waupaca County had 20 news cases, and Waushara County reported 7 new coronavirus cases.
