The state’s Department of Health Services says 6.4 million people have received at least one shot of COVID-19 vaccine since administering of the vaccine began nearly 300 days ago. The percentage of those who have received at least one shot in the arm is now at 57 percent of the state population. The percentage of people that have completed their series of shots is at 54.1 percent. That was the good news. The bad news 2,770 new COVID cases were reported Thursday and 19 more deaths. The death toll from the pandemic now stands at 8,092 lives lost. The state also reported 151 new hospitalizations. The Wisconsin Hospital Association reported 1,117 COVID patients in hospitals across the state with 304 of them in intensive care units.
Winnebago County Thursday recorded 77 new COVID-19 cases and 2 deaths. Ninety-one new cases were reported in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had 39 new cases. Green Lake County has 17 new cases, Waupaca County 30 new cases and 1 death, and Waushara County recorded 24 new coronavirus cases Thursday.
