Wisconsin Department of Health Services officials say the 7-day average for new COVID-19 cases is still above 2,500 at 2,508 cases, but only 1,478 new cases were reported Monday. Since Friday the total new cases was 5,977 cases. But the 7-day average for deaths rose from 15 on Friday to 17 on Monday. The state’s COVID-19 death toll is at 8,041 lives lost since the pandemic began 20 months ago. State health officials also report 240 new hospitalizations since Friday or an average of 80 new hospitalizations over the weekend, which is below the previous 7-day average of 114.
Winnebago County Monday reported 189 new COVID-19 cases and 1 death. In Fond du Lac County 190 new cases were reported since Friday and 2 deaths while Dodge County had 146 new cases and 1 death. Thirty-nine new cases were reported in Green Lake County, 79 new cases in Waupaca County, and Waushara County had 21 new coronavirus cases.
