Remains Of Markesan Sailor Killed In Pearl Harbor Attack Will Be Returned To The Comunity

The remains of a sailor from Markesan killed in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor have been identified and will be returned to the community for burial. Nineteen-year-old Navy Hospital Apprentice 1st Class Keefe Connolly was accounted for on February 11th of this year. He will be buried in Markesan on November 8th a couple days before Veterans Day. Connolly was assigned to the U.S.S. Oklahoma moored at Ford Island, Pearl Harbor. The ship was attacked by the Japanese on December 7th, 1941. It was struck by several torpedoes and capsized.
