The state’s Department of Health Services says 1 in 8 people in the state or more than 700,000 have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus since the first case was reported on February 5th of last year. The state Monday reported 1,518 new cases in the latest batch of test results and is averaging 2,741 new cases every day over the past week. Ten more deaths have been reported since last Friday to put the death toll since the pandemic began at 7,837 lives lost. The DHS also reports 262 more hospitalizations since last Friday. The Wisconsin Hospital Association says there are currently 1,099 COVID patients in hospitals across the state and 334 of them are in intensive care units.

Winnebago County Monday reported 289 new COVID-19 cases. Fond du Lac County recorded 194 new cases since Friday and Dodge County reported 152 new cases. Twenty-seven new cases were reported in Green Lake County, 104 new cases in Waupaca County, and Waushara County recorded 15 new cases.
