The state’s Department of Health Services reported 2,098 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, but despite that the 7-day rolling average dipped slightly to 1,667 new cases. That was after the DHS adjusted the 7-day average from the previous day down from 1,692 to 1,673 cases. It’s the first drop in the average since the beginning of July. The state also reported 15 more deaths from COVID-19 all of them occurring over the past 30 days. Another 144 people were hospitalized. The Wisconsin Hospital Association says 934 people are currently hospitalized across the state with the coronavirus and 275 are in intensive care.
Winnebago County reported 81 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday. Forty-two new cases were reported in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had 26 new cases. Green Lake County recorded 6 new cases and 1 death, Waupaca and Waushara counties each had 11 new cases, but Waushara County also had a death due to COVID.
