Fatal Motorcycle Accident In The Campbellsport Area

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the 51-year-old Eldorado man who died in a motorcycle accident in the Campbellsport area Thursday afternoon. Timothy Tapplin was heading west on County Road F and failed to negotiate a curve. He laid down the motorcycle, slid across the roadway and down an embankment and struck a pier. Tapplin and the motorcycle ended up in Kettle Moraine Lake. The first deputy on the scene removed him from the water and attempted life saving measures, but Tapplin died at the scene. Speed was a contributing factor in the fatal crash. The DNR Campbellsport Ambulance and Campbellsport Fire Department Dive Team assisted at the scene.

Speed was a contributing factor in a fatal motorcycle crash in the Campbellsport area Thursday afternoon. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say a 51-year-old Eldorado man was heading west on County Road F and failed to negotiate a curve. He laid down the motorcycle, slid across the roadway and down an embankment and struck a pier. The motorcycle and driver ended up in Kettle Moraine Lake. The first deputy on the scene removed him from the water and attempted life saving measures, but the man died at the scene. The DNR Campbellsport Ambulance and Campbellsport Fire Department Dive Team assisted at the scene. The accident was reported at 4:30 yesterday afternoon.
