Ripon Man Sentenced On Reckless Homicide Charge

A 27-year-old Ripon man was sentenced in Fond du Lac County court Tuesday on a first degree reckless homicide charge related to the April 4th, 2020 overdose death of a 34-year-old Fond du Lac man. David Bresser got a total of 11 years in prison and 7 years of extended supervision. In addition to the reckless homicide charge he was also sentenced for trafficking fentanyl in Ripon last August 6th. The overdose victim’s body was recovered from the Fond du Lac River near a bridge in the City of Fond du Lac. According to the criminal complaint the County Medical Examiner’s Office listed the cause of death as “methamphetamine toxicity” with the manner of death listed as “accident.” Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney says, “Overdose deaths are a heartbreaking loss of life and we experienced too many of those heartbreaks in 2020.”
