Water Quality Month

In support of National Water Quality Month and the Safe Water for All Campaign, the Fond du Lac County Health Department is offering bacteria and nitrate testing for a total of $30 or $15 per test. The Health Department can also provide information on additional testing beyond bacteria and nitrate, including tests for lead, arsenic, other metals, chemicals, and contaminants. It’s recommended private well owners test for bacteria and nitrates annually. Water testing should also be done when there is a noticeable change in taste, color, or odor in the water. More than 800,000 Wisconsinites use a private well for their water.
