Governor Tony Evers and the state’s top health officials Thursday urged anyone 12 or older who will be attending school in the fall to get vaccinated for COVID-19 as the nation sees another surge in coronavirus cases. Dr. Ryan Westergard says 98.4 percent of new cases are occurring in people who are not vaccinated. The state saw 342 new cases yesterday as the 7-day rolling average for new cases increased to 242. Three more deaths put the death toll since the pandemic began at 7,393 lives lost. Fifty-three more people were hospitalized.

Winnebago County reported 4 new COVID-19 cases Thursday. Eleven new cases were reported in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had 3 new cases. One new case was recorded in Green Lake County and Waupaca and Waushara counties each saw 2 new cases.
