Sports for July 14th

The American League’s dominance continued Tuesday night at Coors Field in Denver. The Junior Circuit, after jumping out to a quick 4-0 lead, rolled to a 5-2 win over the National League. The win marked the AL’s eighth straight win in the contest dating back to 2013. Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was named the game’s MVP after he hit a deep home run in the third inning to give the AL an early 2-0 lead. At 22, he became the youngest ASG MVP.  Guerrero drilled a 468-foot shot over the left field wall off Corbin Burnes to put the AL up 2-0. Gerrero has 28 home runs this season, second behind only Shohei Ohtani. He is the second-youngest player in All-Star history to hit a home run in the game, and claimed the 200th homer in the game’s history. Ohtani started the game for the American  League and pitched one inning and the picked up the win.  The Brewers Corbin Burnes pitched two innings, giving up two runs on four hits and took the loss.  Tampa Bay’s Mike Zunino also homered for the American League and J.T. Realmuto connected for the National League.

The Milwaukee Bucks will try to even up the NBA Finals tonight as they host the Phoenix Suns.  The Suns won the first two games at home before the Bucks won on their home court Sunday night, 120-100, behind Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 41 points and 13 rebounds. That followed his 42 points and 12 rebounds in Game 2, making him just the sixth player with consecutive 40-point games in the NBA Finals. Tipoff is at 8:00 CDT.

Meanwhile, the Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, will host an NBA Finals Game 4 watch party at The Mineshaft in Oshkosh.  The watch party starts at 7:00 and is free and open to the public.

Fans attending the watch party will have the chance to win an autographed Giannis Antetokounmpo basketball and other Milwaukee Bucks and Wisconsin Herd premium items. Fans 18 and older can also enter to win two United Airlines round-trip tickets. The first 1,000 fans in attendance at the watch party will receive a Herd koozie.   There will also be music throughout the night along with additional free giveaways, trivia, activities and games for kids, and an appearance by Herd mascot, Pointer.

Tickets for Packers Family Night go on sale today. Tickets for the Aug. 7th practice at Lambeau Field go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m. online only. It’s the first Lambeau Field event without printed tickets. The change comes as the team announced earlier this year that it will only accept mobile tickets to enter Lambeau Field. The move was made to ensure safe, secure ticketing and help prevent counterfeit tickets.Tickets are $10 each with a limit of 10 tickets per purchase during the first day of ticket sales. All individuals, regardless of age, require a ticket for admittance.  Packers Family Night has long been a fan-favorite during Packers Training Camp.
