The state’s Department of Health Services in its first update over the holiday weekend said the 7-day average for new COVID-19 cases is 225 cases per day. State health officials also reported 4 new deaths putting the death toll from the coronavirus at 7,078 lives lost. Disease activity is still high in 63 of the state’s 72 counties. Meanwhile at least 47.8 percent of Wisconsin residents have received at least one dose of the COVID vaccine and 42 percent are fully immunized.
Over the 3-day period Saturday through Monday Winnebago County reported 7 new COVID-19 cases. Fond du Lac County had 4 new cases and 2 more deaths and Dodge County had 11 new cases and 1 death. No new cases were reported in Green Lake and Marquette counties. Waupaca County recorded 7 new cases and 1 death and Waushara County had 3 new cases.
