Mama Hawk Takes Exception To Work On Oshkosh Water Tower
21 May 2021 News
Oshkosh Police used their drone team to find out why contract workers working on the water tower on South Washburn Street were being attacked by birds when they tried to get to the roof on the top of the tower. The drone took two videos and photos of the top of the tower. Police learned there was a large bird’s nest on top of the tower with an adult bird and two baby birds, possibly Red Tail Hawks, in it. When officers arrived they also saw two more adult hawks flying in the area. As a result of the investigation the contractors and city employees will be making adjustments to make sure that both workers and wildlife are safe. (Oshkosh Police photos)
