Town Square Volunteer Party

23 May 2021 News

With a busy season swiftly approaching, Town Square Community Center is inviting all current, past and would-be (future) Town Square volunteers to attend “Show You Care,” a volunteer appreciation and recruitment party on May 28, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at 492 Hill Street in Green Lake.

“Volunteering for Town Square is one of the most fun ways to meet new people and go home feeling extra good,” said Fran Hill, executive director of Town Square. “Thankfully, people are always coming to us saying that they want to help. This party is a great way to find out more and meet other great volunteers.”

Started as a grassroots effort, Town Square Community continues to rely heavily on volunteers to help with everything from building needs to working at events. “This fantastic community resource simply wouldn’t exist without them,” explained Hill.

Most Town Square volunteers work as part of a Team, depending on interests, times available or skills: The Weed Team (outdoor maintenance), The Building Team (indoor maintenance), Mission Control (running the front desk), or The Events Team (from bartending to bingo).

Added Hill, “We say ‘There’s always something happening at Town Square’, and we aren’t kidding. With activities every single day, it really takes a village to run this place.”

Those interested in volunteering can learn more by visiting www.greenlaketownsquare.org/volunteer or by calling Town Square at 920-807-0008. Those wishing to attend the May 28 party are asked to RSVP by May 25 to bit.ly/TSVolunteer2021.

Town Square Community Center, located in the former Green Lake County Courthouse buildings at 492 Hill Street in Green Lake, is powered by donations and volunteers from the Green Lake Community. It is operated by Green Lake Renewal, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
