The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says the state is closing in on 5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine being administered with at least one shot in the arm. That works out to 4.9 million people receiving at least one dose since December 15th and nearly 40 percent or 2.3 million fully vaccinated. On Wednesday state health officials also reported 383 new cases of coronavirus or 10 percent of the 3,827 test results that came back. The state also reported 5 more deaths to bring the death toll since the health crisis began to 6,976 people. Seventy-one people were hospitalized. The Wisconsin Hospital Association reports 285 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 and 79 of those patients are in intensive care units.
Winnebago County reported 8 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday. Nine new cases were reported in Fond du Lac County and Dodge County had 5 new cases. Green Lake County recorded 1 new case, Marquette County 2 new cases, and Waupaca County 3 new cases. No new cases were reported in Waushara County.
