State health officials say only 116 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the batch of 2,345 test results that came back Monday. It’s is the lowest daily amount of new cases since April of last year. Only 27 of the state’s 72 counties had new cases. For the second straight day the state had no new deaths from the virus keeping the death toll at 6,958 lives. Twenty-seven people were hospitalized. The Wisconsin Hospital Association says there are 321 COVID patients in the state’s 136 hospitals and 71 of them are in intensive care units.
Winnebago County reported 2 new cases of COVID-19 Monday. Fond du Lac County has had 13 new cases since last Friday and Dodge County had 15 new cases over that same time span. Green Lake, Marquette, and Waushara counties saw no new cases yesterday. Waupaca County Health officials reported 3 new cases.
