For the second straight day state health officials reported 18 deaths from COVID-19. Thursday’s report brought the death toll during the pandemic in Wisconsin to 6,953 people. The Department of Health Services also recorded 485 new cases of the coronavirus or 9.6 percent of the 5,048 test results that came back. On a more positive note the DHS says 2.6 million residents have gotten at least one dose of COVID vaccine and 2.2 million are fully vaccinated.
In Winnebago County 42 percent of residents have gotten at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 36.5 percent are fully immunized. In Fond du Lac County those numbers are 38.3 and 33.6 percent and Dodge County 35.9 and 31.1 percent. In Green Lake County 39.3 percent of residents have gotten at least one “shot in the arm” and 35 percent have completed their series of shots while in Marquette County those numbers are 38.4 and 34.8 percent. Numbers are lower in Waushara County with 31.4 percent getting one dose and 28.4 percent fully immunized and in Waupaca County those numbers are 37.6 percent and 32.8 percent.
