For a third straight day and the fourth time this week state health officials reported double-digit deaths from the COVID-19 virus. Fourteen deaths added to the death toll, which now stands at 6,877 lives lost since the pandemic began. The Department of Health Services also reported 667 new coronavirus cases or 12.5 percent of the 5,330 test results that came back. Sixty-eight people were hospitalized with COVID. The Wisconsin Hospital Association says 323 patients are being treated for the virus in state hospitals and 94 are in intensive care units.

Winnebago County reports 41.1 percent of its residents have gotten at least one shot of the COVID vaccine and 33.1 percent are completely vaccinated. In Fond du Lac County those numbers are 37.7 percent and 31.4 percent and in Dodge County they are 35 percent and 28.8 percent. In Green Lake County 38.3 percent of the residents have received at least one dose of vaccine and 32.6 are fully immunized while in Marquette County those numbers are 37.7 and 32.8 percent. In Waushara County 30.8 percent of residents have received one dose and 26.9 percent are fully protected and in Waupaca County those numbers are 36.7 percent and 30.8 percent respectively.
