Child Abduction Attempt In Waupaca County

The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an attempted child abduction on Lamplighter Lane in Waupaca that occurred Friday afternoon. Officials say about 3:45 pm a male subject grabbed a nine-year-old girl as she was getting off a school bus in her driveway. He was hiding in the bushes and came out as she was walking past. He grabbed her by the wrist and walked her into a wooded area. The suspect got spooked and ran off, while the girl ran back to her house. The suspect was described as being 5 foot 9 inches, about 200 pounds. He was wearing black jeans, black shoes, a thin black jacket, and a black ski mask.
