Grothman On Border Issues

Congressman Glenn Grothman says there has been an influx of illegal immigrants along the U.S. southern border with Mexico since President Joe Biden took office.  The federal lawmaker from Glenbeulah says President Trump had gotten the numbers down to about 10,000 people a month, but President Biden ended several agreements the U.S. had with Mexico and other Central American countries that has resulted in the increase of illegal immigrants to as much as 3,000 a day. He says President Trump would have been able to reduce those numbers further, but the U.S. border patrols are understaffed. Congressman Grothman plans to visit the border in the El Paso area in the near future.

Creating A Broadband Coverage Map

The Director of Administrations for Fond du Lac County says a broadband access survey they are conducting in conjunction with Envision Greater Fond du Lac will allow them to create a coverage map. Erin Gerred says it will be helpful in attracting potential broadband providers and show them where there are gaps in coverage. Gerred says grants are available to help providers with costs for providing broadband in areas that are unserved or underserved.  The survey is available at the Envision website under the About tab.
