State health officials say nearly 74,000 COVID-19 vaccine shots were administered since Wednesday’s report increasing the total number of vaccinations administered since they began 102 days ago to over 2.5 million. More than 900,000 Wisconsin residents have completed their vaccination regimen. Department of Health Services officials say 537 new cases of the virus were reported Thursday or 11 percent of the 5,514 test results that came back. Two more deaths were also recorded bringing the death toll to 6,599 since the pandemic began in the state.
Winnebago County reported 27 new COVID-19 cases Thursday. Fond du Lac County recorded 3 deaths and 7 new cases and Dodge County had 4 new cases. No new cases were reported in Green Lake County and 1 new case in Marquette County. Waupaca County recorded 3 new cases and no new cases were reported in Waushara County.
