State health officials reported 490 new COVID-19 cases Thursday or a little over 15 percent of the 3,170 test results that came back. They also reported 2 more deaths to put the death toll since the pandemic began at 6,556 lives. Meanwhile the Department of Health Services reports 23 percent of state residents have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine, which comes to more than 1.3 million people. Fifty-two more people were hospitalized with the virus. The Wisconsin Hospital Association says 222 COVID patients are hospitalized in the state’s 134 hospitals with 62 in intensive care units.

Winnebago County reported 26 new COVID-19 cases Thursday. Fond du Lac County recorded 8 new cases and 2 deaths put the death toll in the county at 100 lives. Dodge County had 9 new cases. Green Lake and Marquette counties reported no new cases. Waupaca County had 5 new cases and 1 new death and the Waushara County Health Department recorded 2 new cases.
