Wisconsin reported three more deaths due to COVID-19 Tuesday putting the death toll since the pandemic began at 6,539 people. The three deaths were the most in three days, but the 7-day average dropped from 8 deaths to 4 deaths the lowest since last September. Meanwhile 55 of the state’s 72 counties reported new cases of the coronavirus. That came to 480 new cases or nearly 30 percent of the 1,612 test results that came back. The state’s Department of Health Services also reported 68 new hospitalizations. The Wisconsin Hospital Association says 215 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 and 61 patients are in intensive care units.

Winnebago County reported 16 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday. Six new cases were recorded in Fond du Lac County and Dodge, Green Lake and Marquette counties had no new cases. Waupaca County had 5 new cases and the Waushara County Health Department reported no new cases.
