Kerr Runs For State Schools Superintendent

15 March 2021 News

State Superintendent of Schools candidate Deb Kerr says one of her saddest days in her 40 years in the education field was last March when as Superintendent of the Brown Deer School District they had to close down the district due to COVID-19 Safer at Home orders. “I was a COVID-19 superintendent I had to close down my school last March 13th and it was probably the most difficult thing I ever had to do in my career and so I have a vision to create a world class education system that is the highest performing in the country for all of our Wisconsin kids.” Kerr would also like to return back to basics when it comes to teaching kids to read, close the achievement gap between white students and students of color, and decentralize the Department of Public Instruction creating regional offices.
